What a Start to a New Year!

I know it has been a long time since I have posted on my blog but no one is perfect. I want this post to be a little different I want to share what I have learned so far this year though something that I had to go through. This year has been a year of of learning and growing for me. Let me tell you a little bit about what has been going on. January 5, 2012 I was sitting in a doctors office and thinking nothing is wrong with me but me mom insisted to just go get things checked out. After the visit I was scheduled that day for some routine testing just to rule out something that might be wrong with me. After going though blood work and an ultrasound it was time to go back to the doctor. The appointment started out great. My blood work came back just fine. I started telling myself that nothing was going to be wrong because that is what every doctor tell me. We finally got down to the test results of the ultrasound. This did not come back normal the test showed that I had a growth on my left ovary. They told me that I had a tumor. They weren't sure if it was cancer or not but they needed to do some more testing. My life came to a stop. I was working on getting my application in for my major. I had just started a new semester at byu. I was so scared. The thoughts kept rushing through me head what if I had to take a medical leave from school. What if I lose my job. I was shocked when I least expected it my life could change in a blink of an eye. After some more tests I was called by the doctor. She had talked to an oncologist and they were sure it was not cancerous but it was probably a good idea to have surgery to take it out. It was time to start dealing with school and work. My teachers were very understanding and they were more than willing to help with what I needed to make up when I got back. My work was willing to work with me and everything was set. During this time many blessings from my father and brothers were given to me to comfort me and I knew no matter what happened I could handle it. I was scared and frightened but I had my family and friends supporting me through the whole thing. It was at this time when I realized I had taken a lot for granted in my life and I was grateful for everything that I had. I started to write in my journal things that I was grateful for. As I kept doing this my heart started to change and I was able to handle everything that was coming in my direction. I was sad that it took the doctor telling me that I had a tumor to realize this but it did. Finally Feb. 13th I went in for surgery. Everything was happening so fast that I didn't have time to think. After surgery I was having a hard time dealing with the anesthesia. Finally, when I was coherent enough to listen to my mom she told me what they found. I had something that is called a bleeding cyst. This is something that never goes away. It just keeps growing until it is taken out. The cyst was the size of a softball. They were surprised that I had not had any real problems with it. Luckily for me I was not ready to burst. The had gotten it at a good time. If it would have burst I would have been in a lot more trouble than I was in. I was defiantly blessed. At 6 o'clock I was finally able to leave the hospital and go home. After a week of being out of school I was able to go back and start making up the work. I did have to drop a class but luckily I will be able to take it at a later time. After all of the stress I found out that I had gotten into my program and I will be starting this fall. I have never cried so much in three months than I did those first three months of the year. I was able to finish the semester and I did pretty well in my classes(thanks to the blessings from my Heavenly Father) . I have been blessed and watched over going through this hard time. I had an amazing family that supported me and helped me receive the comfort that I needed. I had a mom that was so in tune with the spirit that she new I needed to go to the doctor. She has saved my life multiple times when it came down to serious things. I am so grateful to have her in my life. I had an amazing relief society president that was supportive and came to visit me. I had friends that had me in their prays and I could feel their support. The relief society even wrote me notes wishing me to get better soon. It was more than anyone could ask for. Even though there was a lot that I couldn't do the first month after my surgery there was always someone there to help me. I just want to share with everyone that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always there for us. They put people in our paths to help us when we need it. They always have a hand reaching out to us asking us to hold on so they can help us get thought the trials we are going through. They love us so much that they are willing to help us any way that they can. In that I am truly grateful for them. They have helped me grow and become a stronger person. I still make mistakes but no matter what I know that they will always love me and they will always let me repent. I know this church is true. I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ live and are there for us every step of the way if we will just let them in. I know that if we can be grateful now and go forth and serve we will have amazing blessings though out our lives. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we can return to our Heavenly Father. Such great love was given through that sacrifice and I am truly thankful for it. I know that if we put the Lord first we can be truly happy. I say these thing in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
I hope this will be one of many post that I will post! Thank you everyone who helped me I love you all! I just want to end with one saying: Someday we will all run out of tomorrows so lets do it today weather it is talking to a friend or going out to serve or just being grateful. Work on doing it today!

I think this is a record!

Wow it has only been one month since I have posted this is a new record! My life has been a crazy one. There is never a dull moment when you are a collage student. Where to start I do not know. Working two jobs sure takes up my time. I am still loving the bookstore it is a great job. I love the people I work with. I also like not having to work when the little EFY kids come in. That way I don't have to be hit on my little high schoolers. Can you believe I used to by one of those kids 4 years ago. Nothing new or exciting has been going on at the bookstore since I work there in the early morning. No one ever comes in. I keep busy with cleaning the register and reading good books.
Working at Allyse's Bridal is a nightmare. The other day I had a bride and her fiance started yelling at each other right in front of me about a tiara and of course I got the back lash when they were done talking. All I have to say is I do not know why they are getting married because if they are fighting now they are going to fight all the time while they are married. Crazy brides, i just hope that I won't be one of them. I also work some days 10-14hour shifts. I think I am crazy on those days.
As far as a social life I spend most of my time just killing with the people in my ward. I wish I had some pictures to show you what we do but my camera batter charger has gone missing. Then I am always doing something for Relief Society man it is a time consuming calling. I have to teach next Sunday in church. I hope I will be able to do a good job. I get to lay down the law about Visiting Teaching.
Oh random story today at church I got to teach mission prep. I didn't know what I was doing I was dragged in to teaching. I have never been on a mission let alone have stared at the different lessons in Preach my Gospel. So since I had taken a mission prep class at BYU the only thing to do was to have then make a lesson plan and teach it. So everyone got a companion and I gave then the topic and they had ten minutes to plan out a lesson. Then, after that I had then stand up and teach. This way they could practice teaching people and they would get a feel of what it was like to be a missionary. After they taught we would then take two minute and give them feedback about what they were doing well and what they could work on. I think it was really affective. I hope it was at least.
Well that is about what my life has been like this week and I will try to write again soon. Peace,Love,Hope.

Man long time has gone by!

Well I have finished my second year of college! Can you believe it I survived another year. Well a lot has happened in my life since I last posted. I am currently living in Campus Plaza apt. S111. I have a great ward and get along with my roommates. I still work at the BYU Bookstore but I am also working back at Alyse's Bridal man I think I might be crazy going back there.
The most recent thing to happen in my life in the past few weeks is that I am the 2nd counselor in the Relief Society presidency can you believe it. I think about moving out of my apt and I get called into the Relief Society Presidency. Man what a life. There is never a dull moment now. I am always busy with something.
Other then being in the RS Pres. I am just working my little tail off and I am trying to figure out what classes I am going to be taking fall. I have also had more time to turn to my Savior Jesus Christ and to my Father in Heaven. I have been able to have more time to sit and work closely with him. I know that all of our prayers will be answered in the right time and in the right place. I know that sometimes prayers don't get answered right away but we have to be patient and trust in the Lord that he will answer you when the time is right. Well I don't have much more to say but I hope I remember to post soon.

Been awhile I know.

Well, a whole summer has gone by since I have written on my blog. Not much has happened in my non busy life. I live at home for half of the time and the other half I am at the BYU Bookstore. It is my second home. I love working there, it makes me happy and everyone there gets along. We have just finished Education Week which was crazy with all the people and on top of that the bookstore hired 12 new cashiers. Half of the time they didn't know what to do or they tired to tell me what I needed to do. It is kind of annoying but we needed more cashiers so hopefully they get the hang of it.
On friday it was a crazy day at the bookstore everyone was buying their last minute things before they leave so the bookstore was packed. I just happened to be a the slowest register in the whole store. It was awesome but being at the slowest register means that you have to do stuff like returns and re-stocking bags. Well Deena my boss came down all stressed and said "Kristen hi I need you to go do bags" she walked away before I could tell her that I didn't know where they bags were downstairs. So I was just walking around asking people if they knew where the bags were. I finally found someone. I got the bags and I thought everything would run smoothly after that. Wrong again. Trying to get the cart through the massive amounts of people in the bookstore was a workout I think my arms grew two sizes that day. I think I ran into five different things while I was attempting this task. Other then that the week went good. I am ready to go back into school mode.
On a happy note I move out on Thursday to Campus Plaza S104. I am super excited. I am following the family tradition of moving there. I hope the semester goes great and I get a lot of good memories out of it.

Two Semesters later!

Well I know that I haven’t written on here for awhile but I am still alive. I am now into my second semester here at BYU. Living the college life; homework, play and work. What more can a girl like me ask for. I am currently taking Geography and Physical Science, English (sick), and Marriage and Family (not what I want to be in but it is a long story). Everything is going really well I am doing pretty well in my classes. I like most of them for the most part.

Along with my school life I do have a social life. I love my roommates Alicia and Jessica they are awesome and we have a lot of fun times. Let’s just say that there is never a dole moment in our apartment. This past Friday we had a stake dance. Not a lot of people were there. Like half of the people were my ward. That made it so fun. Then we came home and played games with people at my apartment. That was fun. Everyone in my ward is really close. That makes my ward the best ward ever.

Now on to my family life I am so excited to be an aunt for the 14th time. Yay baby Tyler! Another fun thing is Nathan is coming home. It has been so quit with him gone. I can't wait oh happy day.

Well, that is basically all that I have to say. Love you all

What a Summer

I haven't posted in awhile so I will catch you up on what has been going on. I just got done with my first semester of college. I took Book of Mormon and Bowling. I started out nice and slow. My Book of Mormon class was pretty good, it is defiantly not like Seminary, but I learned a lot of interesting things. I think I came out with an A- which makes me happy. Then, my bowling class was fun but i swear my bowling teacher hated me. I am just so happy it is over.
One happy thing is that I am done with Allyse's Bridal! YAY! I am so happy that I am out of that place. I am now an employee of the BYU Bookstore. I have been training these past to weeks. I love it there it is so much better the Allyse's Bridal. I start working tomorrow during Education Week. SCARY! I hope I do well. Well that is it for this blog. Peace out

Crazy Week

This past weekend it was my first weekend off of work for like six months. It was so nice. We went up to Logan for Ben's Graduation and commissioning. That we fun. We got to stay at a really nice new hotel.
Then on Monday it was back to school for me. Boring English class and PE and seminary (which is my favorite). On Tuesday went to school again. Then I went to my internship at Northridge Elementary. It was my second to last day. I was so sad I like working with the kindergartners. After that I got home to find two boxes with a note on it that say Happy Graduation Kristen! It was my laptop and the printer. I was so happy it really lightened the mood for work. Work was okay it was work.
On Wednesday I woke up with a stuffed nose and a dry throat. I knew at that moment that I had strep throat. My mom took me to the doctor and sure enough I had strep. I was not to excited about that So today I am at home trying to recover for when my family comes and for my talk on Sunday.
